Titanium Sapphire laser

Optical Atomic Clock

Jay Mangaonkar

Dr. Jay Mangaonkar has over 10 years of research and development experience. He completed his Integrated Masters and PhD at IISER Pune. Afterward, he worked at PTB in Germany, contributing to the development of a transportable Optical Atomic Clock. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Fellow at IISER Pune, focusing on Ion trap-based Quantum Computing.

Rahul Sawant

Dr. Rahul Sawant has 13+ years of experience in research and development. He holds a B.Tech from NIT Surat and a PhD from the Raman Research Institute. After postdoctoral work in the UK, he worked as a Quantum Technology Scientist at M Squared Lasers and later as Lead Scientist at Qulabs Pvt. Ltd. He is currently a Faculty Fellow at IISER Pune, focusing on a transportable Quantum Gravimeter.

Umakant Rapol

Scientific Advisor

Prof. Umakant has over 25 years of experience in research and development. After obtaining his M.Sc from the University of Pune, he completed his PhD research at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. Following his PhD, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and the University of Innsbruck in Innsbruck. After his postdoc, he worked as a lead scientist at General Electric Global Research in Bangalore. In 2009, he became a permanent faculty member at IISER in Pune and is currently leading various research projects in the field of Quantum Science and Technology
